All Else Fails
F****tropolis
Words by Charlotte Whittingham
Hailing from Edmonton, All Else Fails have released a new album that is the perfect wake up call for most metal heads out there.
Opening track Anti Matyr sets up the listener for original guitar riffs, great chorus and brutal vocals that can be expected on the album. Taking influences from Killswitch Engage and Slipknot, the harsh and clean vocals compliment each other very well; evidence of this can be heard in the track Better Left Undead.
The track that stands out most on this album is La Demencia Violenta; this brilliantly eerie track shows a different side to the band. It is the track that would fit in well with a horror movie soundtrack. Most Unwanted Reprieve is the angry track on the album; like Limp Bizkit’s Rollin and Hatebreed’s Destroy Everything it will be the very track that will cause the moshpits at gigs and everyone to bounce shaking their fists in the air.
Overall a pretty good album, I do find the more I listen the more I grow to like it. It’s a grower for me.
R.I.Y.L: Killswitch Engage and Five Finger Death Punch
Stand Out Tracks: La Demencia Violenta and Most Unwanted Reprieve
