Blomstereng - NEW TRACK!
Blomstereng, a band we featured a while back, recently got in touch about a new track of theirs called Angels And Demons, to see what we thought of it. Given how taken we were last time we checked them out, I was looking forward to seeing what was going on!
Opening with radio sound effects, the track immediately gets off to a style which is going to keep you guessing, urging you to listen more to know what’s coming up. What’s coming up is a riff which is going to leave venues as dust, a vocal line which is going to pulverise your ear drums and drumming so heavy that you’re going to want to hammer out some serious air drumming where ever you are at that moment in time! Urgent vocals, pounding bass rhythms and a pace that’s going to get pits forming all over the place, this is a track which secures Blomstereng as a band to keep an eye on, showing what can happen when a band is made up of like minded people with the same approach to music. Heavy and intricate at times, carefully formed and melodic at others, this track is one hell of an achievement, and one which I know I’ll be coming back to just to make sure it’s still as cool as I remember.
Blomstereng have done it again and produced a track which is going to get new people listening to them, existing fans even more into them and earn them some serious recognition. I can’t wait to see what comes next from these guys, it’s going to be exciting what ever happens!

Blomstereng
We were recently contacted by the band Blomstereng to see what we thought of their new track, Crimson Bridge. Unfortunately, their FB page doesn’t give away a lot in English but thanks to my amazing translational skills (google!), I can tell you that the band is comprised of 4 17 year old guys, aiming to create music which doesn’t match a set image, saying themselves that they’re not a stereotypical metal band, but they make fucking great music!
Bass heavy and dark from the outset, Crimson Bridge seems to follow the majority of the key rules of metal containing solid drums, heavy bass and hammering riffs all played a pace which is sure to get live crowds circling in wait of the break. Moving from the introduction to a more broken down section, there’s a real sense that this track has been carefully thought out before being recorded, it’s like the different sections were all put together before hand then joined to make a track, but it works. The vocals come in as somewhat of a shock initially, their initial scream clashing against the bass heavy backing track but somehow generating a different feeling from things from then onwards. There’s something about this track which works well, but there’s also a sense of disjointedness, not quite achieving the over all aim of the track but almost making do with what they’ve got.
There’s a lot of promise here within this band, and personally I think that this track holds a lot of promise as well, it almost just needs to be refined a little to fully achieve its potential. The different sections which the track moves through have the potential to become confusing and over the top, yet the band have managed to combine them together well, creating a sound which is going to appeal to fans of the more raw approach to metal, and it’s good to hear.
This is a band which is going to be interesting to watch to see how they develop over the coming year, so definitely one to watch out for!
