Burnthru
Four piece rock band Burnthru hail from Wiltshire, UK. A mix of heavy riffs, incredible solos and melodic vocals it is easy to see why they have had such an impact on the local music scene.
Opening song Push Me Under starts with a fantastic guitar riff that will easily be remembered. Passionate vocals from frontman Andy Mitchell are heard next on the song and a shredding guitar solo completes the opening track. It gave me an insight of what to expect on the EP.
Hanging's intro seemed a lot smoother and slower. This song is the perfect one to just chill to or slowly headbang to at a gig, it gives the feeling of hanging. I imagine my feet hanging from a high place like a roller coaster as I listen to this song, it is somewhat relaxing.
√ shows that they can still come up with original guitar riffs and still keep a great tune together. That's what I have liked about this band, the guitar solos and riffs are very original that are placed in the correct part of the song to make the song run along much smoother.
Wake Up was definitely the right name chosen for this closing track, it is the song I can see becoming a morning alarm. The belting guitar riff and driving vocals will be enough to give anyone a wake up call. I also think that this will be the anthem song for their shows, loads of rockers jumping up and down, headbanging and mosh pits. I like this track the best.
Overall a fantastic debut EP, it is definitely further evidence why this band have made a great impact on the local music scene so far. In fact they have quite an original sound that I cannot think who they sound similar too.
