Dark:30
So Brandon from Drucella dropped me a line the other day, putting me onto a track I should check out called Star. Originally from Dark:30’s debut album, the guys have redone it and are giving it away to promote their new album, To The Grave, an album dedicated to making money for charity. Seeing as I’ve checked out stuff from Mr Hurley before, I thought it only right I check out this one to see what’s going on!
As Star kicks in to being it’s immediately something which is going to grab your attention, pulling you into a rock n roll orientated style riff coupled with a serious dose of in your face attitude. Powerful from the word go, this track is the sort of thing which is going to get you moving, jumping, joining in and drinking beer – it’s live scene music. I’d even go so far as to suggest there’s a catchy edge, but not in a pop style, instead in a rolling bass, hammering guitar and anthemic vocal range style, the sort of thing which you know you’re going to want to hear a lot more of. It’s striking that the guys have chosen this track to hook people in as simply it’s going to do that, immediately making them want to know what the new album’s going to bring and looking forward to getting hold of it.
This track is awesome, simple as. If you’re looking for a band who can hammer out rock music designed for the good times then this is them, get on it, check out the track and then get ready for the album – I can’t wait!
