Final Trigger
Publicist Jon Asher has informed us of another Canadian gem that will most certainly breakthrough to audiences worldwide as well as to fellow Canadians, US citizens and crowds in the UK. They have a new album out across America and Canada titled Skrap Metal Vol. II and it is a great listen.
Opening track Face It provides a brutal wake up call for the listener as the band make their mark within the first couple of minutes into the album. Instantly I could hear distinct influences from Limp Bizkit and Slipknot so some excellent influences is a great start. I can hear slick original guitar solos in this opening track and that is a great way to introduce the band for a second time.
Each track on this album stands out in it's own unique way. For instance Through The Darkness gathers some influences from Disturbed and Five Finger Death Punch, it also has an original haunting introduction that entices the listener to find out more and it was one of my personal favourite songs on the album. Knock Somebody Out, Just A Freak and Everyday also have something unique about them. Knock Somebody out demonstrates the Limp Bizkit type anger demonstrated in their anthem Rollin, Just A Freak has that bouncy rhythm and great tune that will be very well received by gig goers.
Everyday has a very different intro and vibe to the other tracks on the album, it sounded like Eminem mixing with Five Finger Death Punch and Limp Bizkit, this track shows that hip hop and metal can be mixed together and sound great.
Overall a flawless album, I loved the interesting combination of metal with hip hop influences and I look forward to them coming to the UK sometime.
