Forest Floors
Forest Floors recently dropped us an email with a copy of their latest track, Pinches and Bites, to see what we thought of things. Describing themselves as Indie Rock, this Portsmouth based 4 piece unit are cited as having an explosive edge live and as a band that are destined to go far. As such, I hit play to see what was going on with everything!
Opening with an upbeat guitar line, the track gets things going with an immediate sense of movement, a feeling that this is going to be a track to see them perform live to fully feel the power of the band. As the vocals come in to get the track going there’s a sense of post punk indie style power, the sort of thing which is going to go down exceptionally well on a festival stage to get everyone moving, jumping and chanting. Moving into a chorus which is full of catchy hooks, the track seems to go from strength to strength, the sort of thing which you can’t help but nod along to, tap a foot to and then before long, sing along to. The upbeat feeling continues throughout the track, resulting in something which is off heavy but definitely seated in the rock spectrum, the sort of thing which is going to appeal to fans of rock but also more mainstream fans, something which I’m sure will boost the popularity of the band!
I went into this track blind and the result was a real head turner, the sort of track which I know I’ll be returning to and listening to again and again. If Forest Floors continue with this sort of sound then I have no doubt we’ll be hearing more from them, and in all likeliness in bigger and better places from here forwards.
