Kings And Angels
Fairly new band Kings And Angels don’t give much away. Described as a hard rock/metal band which takes the listener by the throat and refuses to let go, I was more than a little interested as to what I was going to hear, so I sat down, strapped myself in and mentally prepared for it. This is what i thought.........
The track is called Need You Now, it starts with a punchy rhythm led by the drums with an almost haunting vocal style running alongside. It didn’t take me long to decide that there was a distinct resemblance to 30 Seconds To Mars, however this soon changes with the introduction of the lead guitar. The changes in tempo impressed with as well as the support of the female voice which added more body to the whole track. The track in my opinion levels out a bit and didn’t necessarily grab me by the throat as suggested it might. Having said that, this is the only track we have from this band and they’ve openly said this was recorded in a bedroom. I’ll be interested to see what they offer once they’ve got their full album out and some proper recording time under their belt. Overall, I liked the track and I’m sure I won’t be alone in saying that so will look forward to hearing more from them.
