Lonely The Brave
So when a band gets a feature in Classic Rock, I normally figure it’s about time I sat up and took note of what they’re up to – it seems only right! That’s exactly what’s happened with Lonely The Brave, a Cambridge based band who have just released the first track, Dinosaurs, from their upcoming album, The Day’s War. We were sent through a link to check out what these guys were up to and told to check out the single, so I thought we’d have a look and see what was going on!
Luring us into the track with an echoing sense of melody and depth, the track gets going with lightly humming guitar lines over a solid backing rhythm section, building the tension of the track and daring you to listen further, to keep moving along with the track. The vocals bolster the mix to a new level, continuing to push the track onwards and keeping things moving at a sensible, melodic and emotionally tinged motion, continuing to hold back from the edge but suggesting that there’s much more still to come. As the track finds its full force we’re shown the true colours of the band, launching the track outwards with a sense of atmosphere, power and melody, all bundled up into a track which is catchy, straight to the point, and the sort of thing which is going to get into your head and stay there. Relatively restrained in comparison to a lot of the other stuff we feature on Loud-Stuff, this track still manages to hit home, deliver a power packed track full of hooks and movements, and leave you wanting more – what can I say other than well, that was a quality track wasn’t it?!
I like it when we’re sent through bands like these guys as it reminds me of where music comes from, what it can sound like when the power is toned back for a moment, and why it is that people say there’s so much damned fine music in this country. This isn’t just a track designed for the masses, this is one which everyone will love, share, and want to hear over and over again – needless to say, I’m looking forward to hearing the album for sure!
