Punarjanma

Well something a little different for you avid Loud-Stuff fans. Punarjanma are a four piece band from Siliguri, India. I think this may well be the first band we have featured from this area; they are putting out a Vedic metal sound. The band takes influence from mainstream bands such as Slipknot, Lamb Of God and Evanescence.
At the moment we only have the one track available to us. None the less, the track is called Viswarup Darshana Yog, not going to lie, I have absolutely no idea what it means, but traditional Indian music mixed in with Rock definitely got me interested. An acoustic guitar mixed in with traditional Indian music gets the ball rolling, the tempo is fairly placid at first; however the vocals build up until they are released as a soaring stream of fire and to be honest they sound really good. Any rock lover will appreciate the guitar riffs on offer here, at times they are erratic yet at times they come across as pure genius. The drum beat is not as hard hitting as one would have hoped but after all they are a work in progress. The length of the track is very long and it almost turns into a Dreamtheatre style track with the Indian theme dying out for the rock side to take over with much more mellow vocals. I was then truly stunned as three quarters the way through there is a roasting guitar solo which really does make you appreciate the talents on show here.
Perhaps not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you persist with this I think you will be slightly surprised. I was skeptical at first but have been well and truly put in my place. Would like to hear more from these four very talented people in the future.
