I caught up with the band at Astor Theatre Perth Sun 7th October.
When you see a band of this caliber, your not there to review the bands material, at their level of success it is a given that the material has been performed and appreciated by people that have bought it. The event and their performance on that night is what we review. The Venue was at near capacity with a diverse demographic favoring middle aged men. The crowd knew their bands tunes and called back and jumped around to every track.
The band had an additional member for the show a female on Mixer and keys. Their music isn’t always the simplest to recreate live, however they were solid and tight, with great overall sound quality.
The band performed an epic 30 tracks, with smiles and energy, 3 costume changes and massive sense of humor.
They would have to be exceptionally fit to keep up the pace as their music ducks and dives through several popular genres. There is never a dull moment when you watch Reguritator.
Throughout the show they played against the backdrop of a huge video screen. The images and sequences maintained that same crazed humor the band are famous for.Their talent as musicians and music creators are unquestionable and their material always has broken the mold. It was a refreshing change to see such a vibrant band work their magic, without a hint of stale on a audience that clearly couldn’t have asked for anything more.
