The Chevrons
Four piece rock band The Chevrons are storming the scene in their home town of Liverpool and after listening to this EP I think they could be playing on the radio nationwide.
Opening track Two Steps From Paradise kicks off the EP with it's vintage sounding riffs. You can hear the influences from Kings of Leon and Foo Fighters in the music, particularly the vocals and guitar work. The intro for Rain In The West reminds me strongly of Kings Of Leon anthem Sex On Fire, meaning possibly this song could be become a stadium and festival anthem in the near future. Slippin' Away has a very unique song structure, like nothing I had ever heard before. Starting off with an intro that gets you hooked instantly, I like how it has quite a slow rhythm that keeps in time then suddenly the tempo speeds up. This song clearly highlights the vocals and guitars, this is my personal favourite song on the album as it clearly stands out on the EP. The closing song Fire and Six Strings shows the band's softer side and marks the end of a cracking EP.
This debut EP showcases the band's music very well, a band that shows a versatile collection this early in their music career tend to do very well. Overall a fantastic debut EP
