Until Dawn

Publicist Jon Asher provides Loud Stuff with another gem from across the pond. Until Dawn hail from the north of Alberta and they have provided us with deep dark metal via their new album Horizon.
Opening with Roamers and Lurkers was a fantastic way to introduce this album of original guitar riffs and infectious melodies that remind me of some of the greatest metal songs of today. If you take the original riffs from Metallica, growling vocals from Slipknot and the clean vocals from Tomi Jousten from Amorphis, these elements create the band Until Dawn.
There are some brilliant notable tracks that I have to tell you about. The first one is the track Third Knee, recommended in the press pack provided by Asher, the track has a similar ring to the Slipknot modern classic Psychosocial that I can imagine will have the desired effect at live shows. The single from this album This Fallen Fortress is where you can hear a similar vocal style to Amorphis, I have provided a link to the video which can be found at the end of this review. The last notable track of the album that I would like to mention is the infectious acoustic ballad DNR, I really like how this brings a calmer tone to the dark, heavy and distorted album.
So with a number of notable tracks and elements that create original sounding metal, I can most certainly see Until Dawn going far up the metal music ladder. Therefore I will conclude that this album is another Canadian gem and I hope to catch them on tour in the UK very soon.
