Village Green - Carnaby Street
We featured Village Green a while back and it was without a doubt, one of the most uplifting and easy going tracks we’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing. As such, when they dropped us a line saying to check out their latest offering, Carnaby Street, I jumped at the chance to check it out and see what they’d been up to since our last visit. As such, I hit play, cranked the volume and commenced chilling out.
Kicking into being with a soaring lead line tinged with a real sense of blues, the track gets off to a steady start before ushering in a bass heavy, Oasis style musical sound, the sort of thing which flows over you and simply encourages you to listen. Different elements flow out of the speakers throughout this track, from more of that awesome lead guitar through to piano moments, bass rhythms, solid drumming and of course, the vocals which lead you through the whole track. This isn’t a track which is over the top, overly heavy, or the sort of thing which is going to get you going mad, it’s the sort of track you’re going to put on, play loud, sing along to and love every second of it. I’m sure I said it before but hell, I’m going to say it again, Village Green have got a sound that is primed to take over the world, and a sound that quite frankly, I’ve grown to really love – make sure you check these guys out.
Village Green have done it again, produced a track which harks back to the glory days of British indie rock and managed to make it their own. From start to finish we’re shown the skill within the band, the song writing ability and their ability to mix a track in a manner which allows every single element to be heard. I don’t just recommend you check this out, I order you to get out there, open a beer, hit play on this and just listen.

Village Green - New Stuff!
We featured Village Green a while back and discovered some seriously uplifting music, so when they got in touch about some new tracks on their SoundCloud page, I figured it was only right to check out what they’d been up to and how they were getting on as a band!
Opening with Blinded By The Glow we’re returned to a serene place, a place where melody is the key and you’re enveloped by a sense of calming, soothing moments of music. The acoustic guitar line which forms the basis for the track is backed up by a heavier approach, the backing track growing in power as it progresses but always keeping things at a laid back pace, and allowing you to really feel every moment of the track. This isn’t music designed to get crowds moving and jumping, instead just music which is crafted for enjoyment and singing, it’s impossible not to sing along with the track after a couple of listens! If you want catchy music, perfect for a summers afternoon or time with friends, then this is the sound track for you, it’s got the perfect combination of melody and catchiness to get a lot of people turned on to the sound.
It Hurts continues this idea, crafting another laid back track full of harmonies and melody, only this time adding in a further sense of darkness and pain, almost an emotional edge to proceedings to back up the song title. Despite the emotional edge, this is another track which shows how well the band works as a unit and how refined their sound is, still throwing in a catchy chorus of perfection to make sure you’re listening and firmly on board! Sunshine on the other hand demonstrates the bands roots, launching us into a powerful track which wouldn’t be out of place on a major summer festival stage. The lead guitar line which is thrown in is quite simply stunning, mixed with the jumpy beat of the track and the melodic vocals you’re left with no doubts that this band have got a seriously bright future ahead of them . When you listen to the tracks here it’s impossible not to be drawn into the catchy sound, but also impossible not to notice how well put together the tracks are – I can’t find fault in any element of it.
Closing with Carnaby Street, there’s one last moment of magic here, demonstrating the bands roots and crafting a track akin to early 90’s Oasis. The sound is light hearted, fun and enjoyable from start to finish, focused on the music rather than an image or outlook – and it’s fresh to hear. This final track will leave you with a serious taste for the band, making you want to hear more and wanting to know how they’re going to follow on from these tracks – their album is going to be awesome!
I like Village Green, and I like the sound they’ve gone for here. Sure, it’s not the heaviest of stuff or the most distorted, but sometimes it’s nice to have a break, nice to hear music being done well and nice to have a band doing something they clearly believe in. I’ll be interested to hear more from these guys, and can’t wait to get the chance to see them play live – definitely one to make sure you check out!

Village Green
We were recently contacted by Village Green about their new song Love Will Save The World to see if we could get something up and posted for them. Always on the look out for new music to check out, I figured why not, lets see what it’s all about!
Opening melodic and jumpy, this track is possibly one of the most uplifting things I’ve heard in a fair while, the music seems to lift you from what ever mood you’re in and make you realise that quite possibly yes, love will save the world! Different layers of vocals bombard you from different directions, the guitars riffing but also adding in lead lines to make sure that there’s enough depth there to keep the track interesting throughout. Launching into a catchy chorus which will have you singing along to ‘love will save the world’ after a couple of listens, this is simply feel good music, it’s just here to make you feel better about everything! Throwing in a guitar solo to make sure you’re fully there and paying attention, the track ends on a high leaving you feeling better about pretty much everything, it’s an experience which everyone should have.
I’ll admit, when I saw the track was called Love Will Save The World I was a little worried about what was to come, but this track is actually pretty cool! It’s all about the feel good factor, you feel better for listening to this track which surely has to be the point behind any music?! I like the little lead lines thrown into the mix, the bass line high in the mix, the clean yet slightly raw vocals – they all work together to make a track which you can just listen to and smile – and for once I like that – no further dissection is needed – just go and have a listen to it!
