Words That Burn
Hailing from Ireland four piece industrial metal band Words That Burn are creating a storm with their debut EP Praey.
Starting off with the opening track The End Will Come creates interest and anticipation for the listener. It most certainly makes you want to listen to more of the album as it gives you a taste of what the band are about within the first couple of minutes. Influences industrial metal band Rammstein can be heard on the EP, the vocal arrangements are similar to Slipknot where you have harsh and clean vocals complementing each other very well.
Personal favourite tracks on the EP include R.I.P Me and Wounds. R.I.P Me was very eerily haunting and atmospheric, it was the sort of thing you would certainly hear in a horror film keeping you at the edge of your seat. Wounds showed a softer side to the band and bands that can show this much versatility within the first EP have the best potential to go far in their musical career.
The very powerful closing track served as a cliff-hanger to the end of the EP; like the end of a film or a television series this closing track will leave the listener wanting to find out more about the band.
Overall a brilliant debut EP from Words That Burn, if you like heavy synthesised beats and hard hitting tunes then this is the band for you.
Stand Out Tracks: Ctrl X, R.I.P Me and Wounds
For fans of Rammstein and Slipknot
