Aertv - Back To Basics

Given how important the music video is to bands in the modern world, anyone who is helping bands get their names out there by working with them is good by us - and that's what the Aertv Back To Basics channel aims to do.
Formed in October 2012, Aertv launched an online music initiative called “Back to Basics” which showcases new and emerging Irish acts performing in an acoustic setting. The videos are all shot in unique locations and the bands sing acoustically their own original song.
Speaking to Director of Aertv Philippe Brodeur, he said “A year ago we launched Ireland’s first TV music channel and now we are going one step further with Back to Basics. By putting a spotlight on new Irish music we hope to give a new generation of musicians a voice that is distinct, new and reflects the times we live in. There is so much talent in this country – now is the time to let it be heard both at home and abroad.” - showing the dedication these guys have got to getting Irish music out to a Global audience.
Each week, a new video is released, shot in a beatiful location from around Ireland and showcasing the talent which is over there. The site broadcasts all of the Irish channels as well as the Aertv specialist channels such as music, sports, live and movies - as well as Back To Basics. Whilst largely focused on the Irish audience so far, the lovely people over at Aertv are aiming to develop their audience, and having now built up to 17 videos (from the original 12) which showcase some of the best in emerging music talent in Ireland, there's plenty there to check out for everyone.
Some of the bands have been gaining international attention already such as The Riptide Movement who recently performed in New Delhi India for the Rendezvous Festival, and Bouts who performed in New York for the Music from Ireland festival or there’s Orla Gartland who is a Youtube sensation.
Featured artists so far include The Riptide Movement, Autumn Owls, Heritage Centre, Hudson Taylor, Orla Gartland, Delorentos, Little X’s For Eyes, Bouts, Slow Skies, Bairbre-Anne, The Rusty Fixtures, Eric McGrath, Pearse McGloughlin, Radio Room, Ruairí deLeastar, Keywest, and Spies.
