Leeds Fringe Festival 2012
To me, one of the most important aspects of the music industry is the live scene, it's where fans and bands connect to share an experience, whether it be in a hall or a field. The main downfall of the live scene has always been the lack of access for unsigned talent, most festivals demanding a following of a number which would mean that they're going to make huge profits on their ticket sales. This is all changing now though thanks to a festival in Leeds giving unsigned bands the chance to play. Leeds Fringe Festival is a 7 day festival showcasing local talent across the week leading up to the major Reading and Leeds festivals. Raising money for Martin House Childrens Hospice, this festival is not only an opportunity to showcase local bands, but also one to make a difference to the lives of children. |

Metal Fringe 2012
Metal fringe is part of the Leeds Underground Festival which is a week long festival incorporating loads of venues n bands across Leeds in the run up to the Leeds Fest. Raising money for St Martins House. Metal fringe runs over the weekend at Empire (opposite Adelphi) and showcases the best in rock n metal bands.
