Frequently Asked Questions

If you're in a band/a label/PR Company or an African millionaire who wants to invest millions of dollars in our UK bank account, and would like to contact Loud-Stuff, drop us a line using the form below and we'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. Please be aware that whilst we would love to respond to each and every email we get through, we simply don't have enough time! If you submit a band for review, generally we'll get on and work on it as soon as we can even if we don't send a response, so please don't assume we're ignoring you - we're just really trying to focus on the music!
On the other hand - if you would like to contact someone in particular about something to do with the site, please use the specific addresses below. Again, if we're particularly snowed under then you may not get a response, but we'll be doing our best to get onto things as soon as possible!

Frequently Asked Questions

Here at Loud-Stuff.com we get a lot of questions coming in on a weekly basis, some of which inevitably get lost in the inbox and go unanswered, which we don't like! We try to respond to every question or enquiry we receive, but the following should help out with some of the more key areas!
How do I get my band reviewed/featured on the site?
Easy - either use the Contact Us contact form which will be emailed direct to us once you've filled it in. Failing that, email either , Mel, Charlotte or Julia (who all deal with the music side of things) on:
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
Make sure you include the name of your band, where your music can be heard/downloaded, a link to your bio/one sheet and any other information (such as videos or the like) which you would like us to include on the review when it's done.
Do you review every band who gets in touch with you?
Simply - no. The section where we feature bands on the site is called 'Bands You Need To Hear' and represents bands who we think people need to hear from all over the world. Inevitably there will be some bands who we don't deem suitable for the section, and if this is the case we will of course explain this to you and recommend some of our friends who feature that style of music more often. That said - since setting up the site back in July of 2011, there has only been 9 bands who have contacted us and not been featured - so you might as well get in touch.
What style of music do you review?
That's a hard one as we don't like to lean either way on genres, all music deserves a chance. Obviously as the name suggests we focus a lot of Rock and Metal style music, but we've also featured some electronic style bands as well so we're pretty open. There are limits sometimes, and I'm not sure we could go too far into Lady Ga Ga style pop music, but hey, drop us a line with your music and we'll take a listen!
I've got a movie which I think you should feature in your 'B movies' section, how do I let you know?
Rob is the man at the heart of the B Movies section of the site and controls it to the best of his ability. Much like the rest of the team, his features reflect his taste so there will always be a limit on things. If you want to see a particular movie featured drop him an email on:
[email protected]
He'll always consider new ideas so again, it's got to be worth a go.
Do you only do reviews?
This is another tricky question, as originally the aim was for the site to be far more than just a review site. We do features and interviews as well, all of which are conducted by email unless we can get out to meet with you. Recently we've also written a couple of bios/one sheets for bands so we're going to be moving towards that side of things as well. If you're interested in us preparing your bands bio or sheet, get in touch and we'll discuss options from there. We're more than happy to get suggestions as well so again, drop Charlotte an email and she'll see what can be done!
Can I advertise our new album on the site?
Of course, we're always happy to help out bands with advertising. Presently, we'll include a link on the review for people to buy it but coming soon we'll be redesigning the whole front page to incorporate an advertising banner across the top - contact Charlotte to discuss ideas you might have.
What right have you got to pass judgement on other peoples music?
Good question, simple answer - the same right as anyone does! Our reviews are based on our opinions and experience of and in music - as such, there's always going to be people who disagree! That said, there's only been a couple of unhappy customers so far.
Can you organise gigs for us?
Directly no, but we can put you in touch with people who can help! We can also get posts on the wall to arrange gig swaps around the UK ( and increasingly in the USA) so either post on our Facebook wall, or drop us an email and we'll get something posted for you. This could well change over the coming year - so keep an eye out!
Why use you guys when there's so many other sites out there?
Another good question - so I'll try and be as concise as possible. We get around 1000 hits per day on a quiet day, we work with record labels and PR companies from the US and UK helping them promote their bands, we've got great relations with Noize Level Critical for radio airplay, studios such as BrightSound Studios for special studio rates and bands from all over the world. We don't charge for reviews or features, we don't ask a lot from you lot other than getting your music to us - so in summary - you've not really got a lot to lose! The site is less than 6 months old and has already achieved all of that - and there's a lot more in the pipeline which we can't announce publicly yet so it's an exciting time to be involved!
Oh - and we're quite a friendly bunch of guys really who love hearing new music and seeing new movies.......
