Everyday Feels Like Sunday - NEW TRACKS!
Seeing as they were voted Band Of The Month for April, the guys in Everyday Feels Like Sunday were good enough to send me through a new track , just to see what they had been up to since achieving the spot. Seeing as it’s their final day in the slot, I thought it only right I check out what was on offer and whether these guys were still doing what they do best!
God Damn Opinion certainly suggests that the new material from these guys is going to be pretty damned epic, launching us straight into a guitar fuelled melee of hammering drums, distortion and raw, powerful vocals. The mix is once again catchy and despite the rough mix, there’s a real sense that this is going to be one hell of a track once it’s all done and dusted. Catchy, powerful and straight to the point, it’s no surprise that the public wanted these guys as Band Of The Month when you hear this, there’s so much going on throughout this track that you’re never quite sure where to listen, simply knowing that where ever you choose to focus is going to be pretty damned awesome.
I think what you’ve got here is testament to a band evolving, growing and developing their sound along the way. Everyday Feels Like Sunday were never going to be one of those bands to sit still and let their music just happen, they work hard to craft their tracks and when you hear this, it shows. This is going to be something pretty damned epic to check out – so get on it and make sure you show these guys some serious support!

Everyday Feels Like Sunday - Trouble With Me.
We featured Everyday Feels Like Sunday a while back, so when they dropped us a line about their new track, Trouble With Me, we jumped at the chance to check out what they’d been up to since our last visit.
Opening with a restrained sound initially before launching into a hammering yet funky riff fuelled section, this is music which is going to get crowds moving and people converted to the ranks of the band. Funky and powerful, this is the sort of track which you dream of a band pulling out of the bag, combining everything you could possibly want from music including hammering riffs, soaring lead lines, funky bass rhythms and gravelly vocals all underpinned by a solid foundation from the drums. Catchy and purpose built for the live scene, this is also a track which demonstrates how a band can develop their sound, taking something they’re good at and continuing to improve on it. My only complaint is the little mid section from 1:37 to 1:47 and the ending of the track which follows the same style – I just don’t think it works with the rest of the track as a whole and almost detracts from the quality of the rest of it – but what’s 15 seconds or so?
I’ve liked Everyday Feels Like Sunday since we first featured them so I’ve been intrigued to hear how they’ve developed, and what I’ve got here is an example of that. The band are clearly one who have set their sights on world domination, and with their unique take on hard rock I wouldn’t be surprised to see them achieve it – definitely one to keep an eye on!

Everyday Feels Like Sunday
Winnepeg based Everyday Feels Like Sunday recently dropped us a line to let us know about their album to see what we thought. Formed by Dmitrii and Steve, two delusional musicians who have idolised the likes of Motley Crue and Guns N Roses before developing their tastes to cover more modern sleaze bands, the guys set out to form a band encompassing this style but making it their own. As such, I figured it was time to get on board and see what was going on.
One Night Only opens proceedings and immediately blasts you in the face with a healthy dose of updated 80’s hair metal, throwing in all of the key elements but somehow making a sound which is more current, more advanced and altogether more advanced. I don’t want to use the word clichéd, but the lyrics match the style you’d expect from a band like this, yet somehow they pull it off! Throwing out an anthemic chorus to get you chanting along, this is a hell of an introduction to a band and one which is going to win them a lot of fans! Like Hollywood continues this theme and once again takes the form of a track which wouldn’t have sounded out of place on an early 90’s metal combination. Catchy and jumpy from the outset, this is feel good music designed to get people moving along and enjoying themselves, and the guys are doing it well!
Nothing At All is a serious highpoint on the album, drawing on their influences to create a track which holds the power of metal combined with the melodic approach of stadium rock creating a sound which is going to satisfy that heavy desire within you whilst also getting you singing along and hammering out some air guitar along with the band. Give it a couple of listens and you’ll be singing along with this one, it’s a veritable anthem in the waiting! Somekind of Miracle seems to pick up exactly where the last left off, picking up the pace this time and launching into another driven rock song designed to get you up and grooving! This is one to make the guitarists out there jealous and as it played out I found myself looking longingly at the guitars on the wall, wanting to play along! The guitar is line matched by a bass heavy rhythm, building up to another catchy chorus designed to not only get you moving, but also to get the venue floor shaking.
Money, Barely Knew You, Caught Between A Lie and Blue all continue the album with aplomb, each one throwing out a slightly different approach to things but all following that one key convention, get the crowd involved and wanting to hear more, the latter opening with more of those soaring guitar lines which are surely going to have hearts melting and air guitars being thrown out all over the shop. Kick N’ Use on the other hand is a moment which everyone needs to hear, opening hard and heavy before launching into a fast paced melee of hammering drums, soaring lead snippets and a roaring bass line, the whole mix not allowing you a moment to sit down or take it in, instead just powering on and keeping you firmly involved. This is possibly my personal favourite track on the album and a moment I highly advise you to check out! That said, Snake Bite On My Shoulder is also a moment which you need to make sure you check out, opening with all of the power of a good 80’s power metal track and more guitars than you can shake a stick at, this is another moment where I found myself simply sitting back thinking ‘oh yeah, this is good’.
Self titled Everyday Feels Like Sunday is up next, acting almost as a showcase for all of the elements of the band. Keeping the bass firmly in the mix so it ends up as a constant rumble, this is a track which marks a change in the style of the band. This track is far less produced, far more raw and all out powerful, leaving you breathless as it comes to a close but satisfying that heavy urge within. Personally, I love this moment of contrast as it seems to show off the heavier influences of the band, my only question is the strange synth effects which have been thrown in at the end of the chorus, I’m not sure they work! All The Power To Ya almost comes as a bit of shock after the all out power of the previous track, sounding almost soft at first after the hard hitting rhythms of before. That’s all gone and forgotten though as a dual lead line leads you into the track and once again gets you shaking your ass to the sounds. What I love about the sound here is that it’s distorted yet well crafted, setting a clear sound out and running with it!
Closing the album with The More You Gain and Gin And Tonic there’s no doubt left in my mind that given the right exposure, these guys could be pretty damned big! The More You Gain is a well crafted mix of heavy guitar lines, soaring lead lines, thundering bass rhythms and pounding drums, all working together to craft a sound which is going to get venues moving. Finishing with the dark and reflective notes of Gin And Tonic leaves you wanting more and reaching for the rewind button to go through it all again, the final notes of the album echoing in your ears and keeping this band firmly in your mind for days to come.
Everyday Feels Like Sunday are a band who almost seem to have come on to the scene too late at first listen, but soon fit in perfectly when you listen to more and more. The album ranges from moments which are all out 80’s hair and sleaze metal, to moments which feel far more updated and current, keeping you listening and wondering what is going to come next. In all, I think the timing could be perfect for these guys as we’re due a resurgence of this style of music sometime soon, and you could be looking at the band which is going to lead it!
