10 Questions we ask every band...
Incassum
|
1). What are the names of your members?
Sharleen Kennedy – Vocals Andrew Snowden – Guitar Chris Taylor – Guitar Joe Ratcliffe – Bass John Curran – Drums, Vocals 2). When did you all get together? A bleak winters eve, 2004 3). How did you all meet? The original line up all met at the University of Salford, with Jim Knights (Nailed) on guitar, and Dave Mullard on bass, both of whom would be replaced, respectively, by Chris Taylor and Joe Ratcliffe. We met Joe through the Manchester live scene as bass player for thrash titans, ‘Incidium’ with whom Joe continues alongside ‘Incassum’. 4). How would you describe your music? We have in the past described’ Incassum’ as progressive metal; don’t think cape-wearing organists on 20-minute solos though. Progressive in that, especially on the new record, we blend the brutal with the melodic. Sharleen is like a self contained Ying and Yang, in that she can sound divinely melodic or completely demonic. 5). Who are your major influences? Everyone in the band has his or her own musical preferences and identity, and I think this is what makes ‘Incassum’ unique. We often get compared to Arch Enemy and Evanescence because of the girl-singer thing. Both bands are good, and have helped made it ‘acceptable’ in a male dominated environment for a woman to get up on stage and prove they can have equally big balls. 6). Complete the sentence: One day as a band we hope to... play Rock in Rio. All the footage I’ve ever seen from that event, especially the Maiden concert just looks incredible. 7). Why should people listen to your music? Because if enough people do then we might get rich 8). What are your plans for the upcoming year? Finish the new album, tour profusely, check into rehab and do it all again. 9). What albums/EP’s have you released so far and where can people get hold of them? ‘In Vain’ (2008) This was our first real studio effort and is somewhere between an EP and an album. We got a 4/5K rating in Kerrang! Magazine, which we’re really proud of; but we think the new one will be a 5! In Vain is still available through our website www.incassum.co.uk 10). Finally – say something profound that will make everyone think: “Hey Kids, take my advise, you don’t want to step into a big pile of shit…” quoted from the ever profound sage, Fred Durst, since hearing this I have indeed myself, not stood in another pile of excrement Thanks for reading You can find Incassum at: www.incassum.com Twitter @Incassum www.facebook.com/pages/Incassum/302369584188 youtube channel – IncassumOfficial1 |
