Reckless Love
Spirit is the third studio album by Finnish glam rockers Reckless Love. It hits the UK stores today, read below why it’s recommended.
Imagine every song from the eighties you have ever heard rock and pop, combine them together and the final outcome is an eclectic mix of epic sounding songs. This is what Spirit was like for me.
Opening with an extended version of single Night On Fire really sets the albums concept, which is a very supernatural, voodoo island type vibe. This song became a favourite of mine this year so I was personally looking forward to the release of this album to see what it will consist. Like I mentioned before the album has an eclectic selection of songs so for instance you have the very fast paced, heavy Metal Ass that played after the mellower Dying To Live.
My personal favourite tracks have to be the ones I found to be the most catchy, those were I Love Heavy Metal, Runaway Love and Hot Rain. The anthemic opening of I Love Heavy Metal is enough to blow you away, it’s so memorable that you know what the track is as soon as you hear it. Runaway Love is a beautiful track that reminds me of the Bryan Adams classic Run To You and Bon Jovi’s Runaway. It could just become an epic rock song sounding like it’s eighties counterparts. The spine chilling Hot Rain is my final personal favourite as it combines all the elements I have mentioned previously and creates the perfect rock ballad for all listeners.
It is the perfect way to end the album on a high and another triumphant album from Reckless Love. Be sure to catch them on tour, dates can be found below.
