Rogue Male
We were recently contacted about Rogue Male who are about to arrive on our shores for their first gig as their current line up on Thursday of this week (Purple Turtle – Camden 29th September 2011). Having already had 1500 views on the video for their single Liar, I thought I’d add my two pence worth as well! You can also see the video to this track below so give it a watch!
Opening with a solid lead line on the guitar and bringing in the bass, this track immediately adopts a rolling pace and powers on, vocals and drums leading the way. What really struck me the first time I heard this track were the drums and bass, they seem to gallop onwards dragging you along for the ride. Vocals from almost chanted words to roared chorus sections, this track harks back to the good ol’ days of rock music but with a modern edge applied to it as well. As the singer swears to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth we’re treated to a solid guitar solo before once again picking up the pace and running with it. This track has to be a live anthem, it’s got every possible ingredient you could possibly want from a band right here! As the track comes to a close there’s one regret lingering in my mind, this is the only track I have from these guys at the moment – and I want more!
If you’re in London (or close enough to get there) on Thursday this week, get there and check these guys out. Their music is made for live performance, not CD’s or recordings. You can hear the energy from the band in the recording, sense what the live show will be like, but the only way to truly appreciate it will be to get out there and see them – my advice – do it!
