10 Questions we ask every band...

1). So whilst most of the world is aware who you guys are, introduce yourselves just to make sure!
I suppose the way we always do as We are Terrorvision, from Bradford. In case they are in any doubt we play rock’n’roll or as my lad calls it ‘unstable’. 2). 20 years and 6 albums down the line from first setting out, does it feel like it’s been 20 years together? It doesn’t really. This next set of dates might end up with a different answer mind but I doubt it will do that. More like give us the taste of what we love :{) 3). Has there been a particular high point from the last 20 years that really stands out? Everytime we walk onto the stage and feel that warmth we get from the crowd. Its one thing being in the charts or whatever but it is another playing to the folk who put you there. Y’know we couyldn’t be us if it wasn’t for yous... 4). You’ve played alongside the likes of The Ramones, Motorhead and Def Leppard, do any of those gigs stand out or were they just part of the process as the band grew? Of course the Def Leppard gigs from Don Valley onward were great for us. Joe especially really got what we are about and helped alot. They were great to us too. Having Joey Ramone ask you to turn the music down was an eye opener but also proud we were asked by the guy that was usually singing when others asked us to turn it down years before. It was an honour to tour with Motorhead too and I suppose it is one of those learning curve/processes to play to a Motorhead crowd. It makes sure you mean what you write and play as that is the best thing about real rock music and that translates from Pantera to Neil Young. 5). Having supported bands like that you must have played a real range of venues, has there been a particular favourite moment or venue/city you guys have played? We have played at some notorious and some revered venues in our time. I love the fact we played CBGBs’ in New York and the big Las Fallas festival in Valencia. I love the fact we played at Georges hall in Bradford and every other venue on our road to it. Donnington and Download or the Reading or Glastonbury. They all leave their mark on you in varying ways... 6). How was it playing Download this year for their 10th Anniversary? Download was a blast. It was ace to be asked to play and so we made sure we gave it a thousand percent. 7). Looking back, you guys have done a final concert, then several other smaller tours, but did you always intend to do a 20thanniversary tour or was it just a case of things falling back into place? Completely as the flow has taken us. We only made the album cos we had those songs and we made it, then we thought it would be good to let everyone know what we were up to. If we hadn’t got the songs then we wouldn’t have bothered even trying to write an album. Does that make sense?? Might be easier to explain using albums that needn’t have been made as an example... Oooer but y’know what I mean.. 8). Are there any dates on the tour that you’re really looking forward to? Why? Really it can be easier not to think of it as being different places when getting on and off the bus. Like if were just parked up and living in a bus and getting off every night to play in the venue next to where we are parked :{) Its the people in the place that make the place. 9). One of the most popular tracks you guys released was the remix version of Tequila back in 1999 , how did remixing that come about? I think it was just an idea thrown out by the girl doing A&R at the time. Yeah, good call. She had Mint Royale do the remix, it sounded like a party and the rest is history. 10). Compare that to some of your other stuff and it’s the other end of the spectrum, so was it a conscious decision to do something different, or was it just a case of feeling like doing something a little different? In fairness, songwise I prefer the Tequila on the album but I suppose the remix was more like what you get on the radio and we did have some crazy adventures on the back of that. From getting a box of the finest Jose Cuervo bottles of tequila to drinking them and flying to L.A to mime (kinda) radio.. 11). Speaking to people, their favourite album of yours was How To Make Friends And Influence People, what’s your favourite of the 6? Good to go rocked like we intended, shaving peaches allowed to experiment like we wanted but yeah I think How to make friends allowed to do all these things and more 12). So what can we expect from the new album? Terrorvision from Bradford. Its never gonna be about shadows of love and castles of tomorrow but more about what we know and that is rock’n’roll (unstable). I really love Ozzy, not so sure about Kelly, I want sabbath on my radio not Sharon on the tele. 13). When are we going to see it released? Out now!! www.terrorvision.com or the usual google search. Its called Super Delux of which we consider it both. 14). Can we expect to see some more tour dates coming up for next year? As we mentioned earlier we will go with the flow. We won’t be going out to go through the motions but if we are burning to play like we are now then I don’t know what would stop us :{) 15). Sum up the last 20 years in no more than 5 words: BOOM BANG OOF YEAH AAARGH! 16). Finally – in the tradition of Loud-Stuff interviews, say something profound that will make everyone think. Music is the only thing that when it hits you feels good. Bob Marley Tony – Terrorvision www.terrrorvision.com www.facebook.com/terrorvisionofficial www.twitter.com/terrorvision |
