The Deathisodes
We were recently contacted by Alex Loader about a project featuring members of countless bands, all working together to put together music inspired by the future, gaming, history as well as numerous others, called The Deathisodes. Initially started in July 2011, the project is designed to showcase what the UK Underground Metal Scene has on offer with the best musical talents, upcoming artists and of course, bands! Now primed to release their new album, Inside The Universe Of Horror, on June 21st 2013, Alex sent me through a link to check out Project Omega featuring Elliot Alderman-Broom (Cambion) and Benjamin Ellis (Bloodshot Dawn) – so who was I to refuse?!
Launching into the bass heavy and electronically edged melee that greets us there’s a real sense of foreboding, suggesting that what is going to follow is going to be intense, heavy and pretty damned awesome. Building the anticipation through the faded out guitar tones which lead us in, finally we’re launched into a rolling melee of hammering drum work, distorted guitar lines and bass heavy rhythms, forming into a mix that’s surely going to get crowds moving from the word go. Fast paced and powerful from the word go, this is a track that refuses to take prisoners, grabbing you by the throat and launching you full tilt onwards with hammering guitar lines, roaring vocals and a sense of all out destruction. Full on from start to finish, this is proper metal done well, music that’s going to get pits moving, remind you of why you started listening to heavy assed metal, and make you fall in love with what you’re hearing. From soaring lead lines through to incredible roars, this track as it all, suggesting that the full album is going to be one not to mix – wow.
I’m always wary when there are numerous different influences thrown into a pot as sometimes, the result can be a little chaotic – but not here. Project Omega from The Deathisodes is quite simply an incredible track packed with everything you could possibly want from a metal song. Heavy, raw, melodic and groove orientated at times, I’m not sure the world is quite ready for this level to be unleashed yet – but give it a go – you’re going to love it.
