This Means War
This Means War – ‘Truckasaurus’ Single Review
This Means War are a five-piece metal band from Brighton. With an extremely catchy opening riff, the song is instantly impressive. With fast-paced guitaring and heavy vocals, This Means War prove that they are an exciting new addition to the metal scene. A strong bass line and breakdown suggests that they’d be a great band to see perform live. ‘Truckasaurus’ conjures up images of the giant mechanical truck dinosaur from ‘The Simpsons’, but it’s now also an insanely good metal song.

This Means War
Brighton based This Means
War got in touch about their new song, Bring Your Own Shotgun’ so that we could
have a listen and get a review posted. This is a band you need to check out,
need to hear and need to check out live!
Bring Your Own Shotgun opens with rolling drums, crunchy guitars and vocals which rip your ears out and throw them around the room, this is some serious stuff! As the song moves on the pinch harmonics back up the already shifting riffs and roaring vocals giving this track a seriously heavy depth. Drawing on their influences from bands like Lamb of God, Devil Driver and Pantera, the drums and guitars create a rolling sound which makes you want to get up and start a circle pit where ever you are at that particular moment.
Suddenly around 3 minutes, the song breaks down and you’re left with a harmonic, clean guitar with spoken vocals over the top, this contrast really gives the track an extra level which then continues to build as the guitars kick back in properly, continuing the harmonic line in the back ground but gradually building the pace back up to where it was before.
As this track ended I felt myself craving more, the track ends in much the same way as it starts meaning you’ve almost gone full circle, the only thing lacking is more!
Average Joe Goes Psycho is also featured on the bands FB page, again featuring heavy guitars, rolling drums and roaring vocals, this band are a no holds barred assault on your soul, and it’s good!
This Means War are one of those bands who you hear and immediately know that they’re going to produce something special sometime very soon. It could well be that Bring Your Own Shotgun is that track, the one which gets the crowd going mental and propels the band into the spotlight. I for one am very keen to hear what else this band have got to show because the level they’ve set for themselves is looking pretty damned awesome.
