10 Questions we ask every band...
Tommy Justice
|
1). What are the names of your members?
Steve Wallace (Guitar), Richie Scott (Bass) & Steve ‘Clarky’ Clark (Drums) and of course me! Tommy Justice 2). When did you all get together? I put the band together shortly after the album (Setting Fire To History) was recorded. When the album was done I was offered a string of gigs and had to put together a band of musicians that were accomplished enough to help me ‘drive the Justice train’, If you know what i mean… 3). How did you all meet? I’ve known Richie Scott since school (which seems another life time ago), we sat together after school during many detentions discussing our favourite Metallica albums and what part of Stairway To Heaven we loved the most… Steve Wallace (Guitar) was introduced to me by a mutual friend who figured he was the perfect match for my band, and he was right! As for Clarky, (drums), he was introduced to me by Steve Wallace! Funny how things turn out! 4). How would you describe your music? Original, classic, classy power-rock for head-banging youngsters and discerning grown-ups alike. 5). Who are your major influences? Guns N Roses planted the seed for me wanting to play rock guitar on stage. Thin Lizzy’s Phil Lynott & Metallica’s James Hetfield made me want to take over singing duties and KISS made me want to put on a jaw dropping live concert. I’ve always loved the idea of combining ZZ Top’s southern blues with Van Halen’s guitar wizardry. Also having the vocal harmonies of the British bands like The Beatles, Queen and Def Leppard always appealed to me too. Jethro Tull & Iron Maiden taught me about ‘time changes’, Bon Jovi made it appealing to the ladies and Motorhead made it very clear that your finely crafted tunes MUST BE LOUD!!!! All of that combined made for good Rock n Roll education! 6). Complete the sentence: One day as a band we hope to… The Beatles used to say they were aiming to reach the toppermost of the poppermost. It doesn’t rhyme, but as a band we are hoping to reach the toppermost of the rockermost. 7). Why should people listen to your music? Because we aren’t depressing! Me and the boys in my band are all about one thing (cue Spinal Tap quote) ‘Have a good time ALL the time’! Seriously we’re essentially a rock band playing loud, rude and aggressive rock music! We ain’t gonna preach to you about politics or religion, we just want people to have a good time, listen to great music, watch a fantastic show and enjoy themselves! 8). What are your plans for the upcoming year? Playing more shows, getting more tattoos and writing the next record! 9). What albums/EP’s have you released so far and where can people get hold of them? My debut album Setting Fire To History is set for release on the 3rd of December through Casket Music and will be available via iTunes, Amazon andwww.tommyjustice.com 10). Finally – say something profound that will make everyone think: Zero to the power of ten equals nothing at all Check out what we thought of Tommy Justice when we checked out the album HERE. |
