UB40 - Getting Over The Storm

I was very greatly surprised to receive this submission from Prescription PR; UB40’s latest album Getting Over The Storm that’s generating curiosity amongst UK media outlets such as The Sun and The Telegraph.
Getting Over The Storm is an appropriate title for the album as UB40 went through a period of bankruptcy and this album is the perfect proof that they did indeed get over the storm.
This relaxing journey starts with a brilliant cover Midnight Rider, it’s fantastic on how they make a famous rock tune sound like a relaxing summer, reggae melody. This track along with the rest of the album has the ability to make your mind go completely numb and make you forget about reality for about an hour or so.
My personal favourite track on the album is the song Just What’s Killing Me; it has such a lovely melody and a relaxing vibe that has the desired numbing effect on the mind. Another highlight on the album is the song I Did What I Did, with it’s infectious melody and a head bobbing beat that makes the music lover move it’s head like the Winston Churchill nodding dog.
Reading the press pack information a lot of covers on this album are of country songs; saxophone player Brian Travers know that audiences from the Caribbean love country music. He also states that both genres reggae and country sit well together. Tracks such as On The Other Hand and How Can A Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live prove this statement to be one hundred percent accurate.
This album takes you on a unique journey between the Carribean and the south west America; it’s has been an inspiring one. Considering what this band have gone through, this album is just a fantastic, relaxing album and I think it could be hitting the UK charts.
Stand out tracks: Just What’s Killing Me, I Did What I Did and On The Other Hand
For fans of Bob Marley and Willie Nelson
