Uncledog

A bit of a treat here for you guys, we venture into Europe for this five piece band, Uncledog. The band is from Este, Italy and is kicking out some serious hard rock anthems. They have a huge following on Facebook so make sure you get on there and like the page. Good thing about these guys are they are all friends and have known each other before the band got together and they write their own songs, gotta be a winning combination right there!
Face On The Floor has a fast past start. Instantly introducing an intense guitar riff with an equally hard hitting drum beat. The vocals enter the frame, pushing the track along at an even faster pace. They complement the style of track perfectly and they do sound really good, even if I couldn’t quite follow along that well. There’s a little bit of variation shown in this track, with changes in tempo and vocals on show. On the whole it was a solid start and set a good foundation.
Distorted guitars fill the room at the start of Strange Experience. They are soon joined by a solid, rhythmic drum beat. A punchy, bouncier guitar riff then comes to play adding that needed volume to the track. With the addition of the vocals, it’s clear to see that this is a different kind of track to Face On The Floor. There are two sets of vocals that battle it out for the lead role and they both do the track justice. With the guitar solo thrown into the mix, this makes for a really awesome, feel good track.
Yellin’ Monkeys has a noticeably slower start, a lone guitar strumming gets the ball rolling, and however, it isn’t long before it is accompanied by the ever reliable drum beat. A full bodied riff then takes over with the introduction of the vocals which sound much heavier to begin with. The tempo picks up as the vocals die down to their usual style. Once again there is quite a variation in regards to tempo, often slowing down for a brief moment t only to be dragged back in the opposite direction at that relentless pace. The guitar solo is also back and works well to add a new dimension to the track.
The last track I listened to was Weak Head, Strong Heart. A much darker opening awaits you, a heavy guitar riff accompanied by the strong, menacing drum beat take control of the track early on. Only the introduction of the lead vocals can wrestle control of the song back from them. The pace is frantic, there’s not a lot of time to breathe during this track and you will find yourself getting that old air guitar out again when the guitar solo is in full flow. I liked the section of this track where the instruments stop and it’s just the two sets of vocals. This was a nice touch and worked well.
Well I can see why these guys have such a big following on Facebook. The riffs on show are solid and hard hitting and they set the tone for the vocals and drums to take things onto that next level. Really good stuff here, don’t forget to take a look at the bands Facebook page.
