Remains Of You
Hardcore metallers Remains Of You from South Yorkshire are making their mark on the metal scene with their debut EP.
Opening with an instrumental that smoothly changes over to the track The End gets the band of to brilliantly brutal start. Thunderous drums, harsh vocals and powerful guitar riffs within the first couple of songs is certainly a sign that they have potential to storm the metal scene. As this EP progresses, mosh pits and headbanging come to mind which is a good thing. Especially when you are slowly headbanging in your living room listening to this on your laptop. It makes you want to burst out and start a mosh pit in your own house.
Hearing the lyrics quite clearly on first listen was a great surprise; listening to quite a few hardcore bands previously making out what the lyrics are can be tricky at first listen but this was different and this works. Good examples of this can be heard in tracks such as The End, Retribution and MVP.
Overall, despite not being a huge fan of this genre of metal, it was a pretty decent EP. Most certainly a band to look out for.
